How
to make a complaint about racially offensive/antisemitic material
on the Internet
Here
is a guide to the law in England and Wales as of
February 2002: "Racially
Inflammatory Material on the Internet". This
document is already over 7 years old so it is likely to be out of date
regarding
the current state of the law. Make your complaint here: The Internet
Watch Foundation (but
only after
you have read the above guide).
The
Internet
Watch Foundation is an incorporated
charity so I recommend you contact the Charity
Commission if you feel that the IWF is not taking your
complaint sufficently seriously.
I must say that in my opinion they do not have a particularly good
record with regard to Internet antisemitism.
If
you live in Dorset,
rather
than contacting the IWF, report incitement to racial or ethnic hatred
and other hate crimes directly to the Dorset Race Equality
Council. Email enquiries@dorsetrec.org.uk
or phone 01202 553003. The Dorset REC has a formal reporting link to
the
Dorset Police aimed at combating hate crimes. Good luck.
A working definition of
antisemitism
The
ways in which antisemitism manifests in society is constantly changing.
This is acknowledged by the "European Union
Agency for Fundamental Rights", which has published a "Working
Definition of Antisemitism".
